Jon Stewart, born Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz on November 28, 1962, in New York City is a popular T.V. show host. His mother, Marian Leibowitz, was a teacher, and his father, Donald Leibowitz, was an energy coordinator. Stewart has three siblings, all boys. Stewart was five when his parents got divorced and he barely saw his father from then on. Even as an adult, Stewart commented that his relationship with his father was “complicated.” Stewart grew up with his mother and his older brother in Lawrence Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He attended Lawrence High School. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at The College of William & Mary and majored in Chemistry and Psychology. He dropped his surname and had his surname changed legally to Stewart in 2001.

Jon Stewart was born Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz in New York City, New York, to Marian (Laskin), a teacher, and Donald Leibowitz, a physics professor. His family is Ashkenazi Jewish (from Austria, Ukraine, Poland, and Belarus). Stewart moved to Lawrenceville, New Jersey during his childhood. He graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1984. He made his breakthrough on The Larry Sanders Show (1992), where he had a role playing himself, the oft-timed "Guest Host" of "The Larry Sanders Show". He became as much a part of the show's fabric as some of the regular performers.
In the 2000s, Stewart emerged as a bona fide television personality with his ascension to host of The Daily Show (1996)/Comedy Central, taking over for Craig Kilborn in 1999. Audiences have embraced his sarcastic, sardonic and incisive sense of humor, covering politics and other news stories.

Stewart has played professionally for Bournemouth and Spanish side Alzira where as spells with Portsmouth and Burnley yielded no first team appearances. He has played at Non-league level for Weymouth, Alfreton Town, Worksop Town, Bradford Park Avenue, Shaw Lane, Boston United, Gainsborough Trinity, Matlock Town, Liversedge F.C and Humber United.
