R.L. Greene loves to create realistic characters with unforgettable personalities. Of course they invariably turn on him around chapter two and won’t let him have any say about their lives after that. While he’s come to accept the fact that he’s just the guy who gets stuck doing all the typing, he very much resents that he routinely gives life to selfish, inconsiderate people who have no gratitude. Roger believes in things like redemption, reconciliation, and forgiveness so he creates circumstances that force his ungrateful characters get along with each other – whether they like it or not. In the end, he will occasionally admit that his characters told a better story than he ever would have come up with on his own – but not always – because why should they get all the credit?

Roger Gilbert Lancelyn Green (2 November 1918 – 8 October 1987) was a British biographer and children's writer. He was an Oxford academic. He had a positive influence on his friend, C.S. Lewis, by encouraging him to publish The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Roger L. Green was born in Nebraska—the third of four children in his family. The Green family moved to Africa in 1950, staying for 10 years.
After returning to the U.S. from Africa, Roger graduated from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and went into radio broadcasting. In 1976, he became a sales representative for two national companies. He rose to Sr.V.P. of Sales/National Sales Manager with both groups. Roger helped found a national sales group, as well. 
Roger married Carol Williamson in 1966. The couple had four children: Michelle Green Veach, the late Nicole Green, Danielle Green Lackey, and Anthony (Tony) Green. They have eight grandchildren. The Greens lived in Illinois, Nebraska, Texas, South Carolina, and California. Roger retired in 200
