In a fun and intriguing segment on Cleveland’s FOX 8 News, the news anchors each took a DNA ancestry test with Ancestry.com. Their results were revealed live during the broadcast, much to the delight of both the anchors and the viewers.

Natalie Herbick, co-anchor of FOX 8 News at 4 p.m., shared her results on-air this past November. She told La Gazzetta that her results weren’t surprising. She is 25% Italian, which comes from her mother’s side of the family. And although her results showed she is 34% Eastern European, stemming from her Hungarian and Slovak roots, and 17% Irish, she definitely identifies with her Italian roots the most. “I love being a ‘mutt,’ so to speak, and I’m proud of my heritage, but I feel that I identify so well with the Italian culture because we were so heavily influenced by it growing up. My mom instilled many traditional Italian attributes in us: put family first, give more than you receive, the more the merrier, and the fiery passion for life.”

New Day Cleveland's Post

I’m writing this message today with a heavy, heavy heart. For those of you who know me or who watch New Day Cleveland, you know how much my New Day family means to me. They’ve helped me through some of the toughest days of my life and that includes our director and dear friend John Ackerman.

John had the greatest and worst moment of his life in the same day. This weekend he welcomed his precious son Archer into the world and in the same day lost the love of his life, Amanda. Amanda was an incredible wife, daughter, sister and will forever be the most loving mother watching over her son from above. Amanda was also an inspiring teacher and would want nothing more than little Archie to have a great education. So I write this message today asking for your prayers for this beautiful family suffering from an unimaginable loss. I’ve also added a link if you would like to make a donation to Archie’s future education in honor of his mom.
