Jari Pekka Kurri (born May 18, 1960) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey winger and a five-time Stanley Cup champion. In 2001, he became to first Finnish player to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. In 2017 Kurri was named one of the ‘100 Greatest NHL Players’ in history. He is the general manager and owner of Jokerit.
Kurri won all five of his Stanley Cups during his 10 seasons with Edmonton Oilers, but also played with the Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, Anaheim Ducks and Colorado Avalanche. His No. 17 jersey was retired by the Oilers in 2001, the same year he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Jari Kurri
Jari Kurri (born 18 May 1960 Helsinki, Finland) is a retired five-time Stanley Cup champion in NHLhockey.
Kurri started his ice hockey career in the junior team of Jokerit. Already in age of 17, he played in Jokerit team adults. He also played for Finnish Junior National Team in 1978, 1979, and 1980. He played on the Olympic Finland team in 1980.[1]
In 1980 he was invited to play for Edmonton Oilers in Canada. There he played with Wayne Gretzky for 8 seasons until Gretzky moved to Los Angeles. They became famous. Oilers won Stanley Cup 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, and 1990. Later Kurri played for Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and Colorado Avalanche.[1]
During his career Kurri made 600 goals in NHL.[1]
Because Kurri was most years continuing his NHL term in North America in Stanley Cup playoffs, he could not play for Finland National tesm very often. However he was in Olympic Games in Nagano 1998, and got a bronze medal.[2]

Playing the majority of his career both with Wayne Gretzky and in Gretzky's shadow as his so called, "Right-hand Man," Jari Pekka Kurri was considered by many to be perhaps the best defensive forward in the NHL. His two-way abilities were the perfect complement for his hard, accurate shooting and scoring proficiency.Jari during his rookie campaign in 1981 Kurri was born on May 18, 1960 in Helsinki, Finland to Ville and Liisa Kurri. His father was a trainer and spent countless hours driving Jari to and from the local rinks. From an extremely early age, he belonged to the Jokerit Helsinki hockey club, progressing through the ranks and dreaming of one day playing with his heroes in the Elite League or winning Olympic gold with the Finnish National Team. As a youngster, Jari also participated in many other sports, including track and field and soccer. However, it was in hockey that his true abilities shone.
By age 17, Kurri had realized part of his dream by playing with Jokerit's senior club. He spent three seasons in the Elite League, steadily progressing
