Suzy Kolber is the host of ESPNâs year-round NFL Insiders and she anchors coverage from the âBig Early Game,â typically the top 1 p.m. ET game on the NFL schedule, for ESPNâs Sunday NFL Countdown pregame show.
Kolber is widely praised for elevating the NFL sideline role during her 11 seasons covering NFL prime-time games, first on ESPNâs Sunday Night Football (2001-05) and then on Monday Night Football (2006-11).
In 2006, Kolber worked the sidelines for ABC Sportsâ broadcast of Super Bowl XL in Detroit and contributed to the networkâs pre-game show. When did you first fall in love with sports? Was it always your goal to report from the sidelines?
I’d say from the time I was born, sports have always been my first love. Every little kid’s dream is to be a professional athlete if they are involved in sports. And, at the time when I was growing up, there were fewer opportunities for women to be a professional athlete. Being on the sidelines, to me, was the next best thing!
