Jamshad Cethirakath (born 11 December 1980), known by his stage nameArya, is an Indian actor and film producer who predominantly appears in Tamil cinema and a few Malayalam and Telugu films.[1] Arya has won two Filmfare Awards South and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.[2] He was included on the 2015 edition of the Forbes India Celebrity 100, a list based on the top earning Indian celebrities.[3]
Arya made his breakthrough portraying rogue characters in Vishnuvardhan's Arinthum Ariyamalum (2005) and Pattiyal (2006). He later won critical acclaim for playing an Aghori in Bala's Naan Kadavul (2009). He gained further commercial success with the release of the period drama Madrasapattinam (2010), the comedy film Boss Engira Bhaskaran (2010), family action film Vettai (2012) and Atlee's family film Raja Rani (2013).[4][5][6]
In 2013, he appeared in three more Tamil films: R. Kannan's comedy film Settai, Vishnuvardhan's action thriller Arramba Arya: The bride so nice Brett married her twice. When Arya first got in touch with me, she informed me she wasn’t inquiring for me to photograph a wedding for her, she was inquiring for me to photograph TWO weddings for her. Her and her fiancé, Brett, had decided they would honor both of their families with two different celebrations: the first, a Hindu ceremony, with a dance party I can only describe as legendary; the second, a backyard celebration at Brett’s grandparents house, where he had played as a boy.
