AP: I think that having a vision is a bit hyperbolic. People have taken the word “vision” and added so much weight to it that it has become intimidating. I prefer the word imagination. All my cousins, my mom, my future wife and everyone else in Aventura, Florida was taking Beto Perez’s dance fitness class in 2001, and at my mom’s suggestion I went to see it. It wasn’t even called Zumba at that time. He called it Rumbacise. What I saw was fitness without sacrifice. What I saw was a group of people dancing their hearts out and smiling all the way through it.
