William J. Williams, professor emeritus of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, passed away December 6, 2020, at the age of 85.
Prof. Williams is internationally recognized for his contributions to the development and application of signal processing in biomedical engineering and biology. He made seminal contributions to the theory and practice of time-frequency signal analysis. His methods and algorithms have been used to study such diverse phenomena as whale sounds, epileptic seizures, gear noise, and machine tool chatter in manufacturing operations.

Herman August Wilhelm Katt (May 15, 1915 – September 21, 1992), known professionally as Bill Williams, was an American actor, best known for his portrayal of the titular character in the western series The Adventures of Kit Carson, which aired in syndication from 1951 to 1955.
Life and career
Herman August Wilhelm Katt was born on May 15, 1915 in Brooklyn, New York to German immigrant parents.[1] He attended the Pratt Institute and became a professional swimmer, performing in underwater shows. He landed a walk-on role as a theater usher in King Kong (

The late William (Bill) Williams was the president and cofounder of Glory Foods, Inc., and was a native of Columbus, Ohio. With his colleagues Daniel A. Charna and Iris Cooper, he developed the concept of Glory Foods in 1989, when research revealed there was a void in the marketplace for food products targeting African American consumers. In 1992, Glory Foods began distributing its 17 Southern-style food products in supermarkets throughout Central Ohio.
Williams attended the Culinary Institute of America, where he graduated with honors. He went on to obtain his bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Massachusetts. He then spent more than 20 years as a food and beverage manager for hotel and restaurant chains, including Sheraton Tobacco Valley Inn, Hotel Sonesta and The Playboy Club Hotel.
