Zecharia Sitchin (July 11, 1920 – October 9, 2010)[1] was an author of a number of books proposing an explanation for human origins involving ancient astronauts. Sitchin attributed the creation of the ancient Sumerian culture to the Anunnaki, which he claimed was a race of extraterrestrials from a planet beyond Neptune called Nibiru. He claimed that Sumerian mythology suggests that this hypothetical planet of Nibiru is in an elongated, 3,600-year-long elliptical orbit around the Sun. Sitchin's books have sold millions of copies worldwide and have been translated into more than 25 languages.

Zecharia Sitchin (1920-2010) studied Economics at the University of London and was best known for his fringe theories on the origins of Earth and man-kinds celestial ancestry (alien ancestry). According to his official website, www.sitchin.com, he is “one of few scholars able to read and interpret ancient Sumerian and Akkadian clay tablets.” His interpretations and theories were compiled into his seven books known as The Earth Chronicles. In his first novel, The 12th Planet and its sequels Sitchin claims there is a 12th planet beyond Neptune known as Nibiru that reaches our inner solar system once every 3,600 years. According to Sitchin, an advanced race of human-like extraterrestrials called the Anunnaki live on Nibiru and are the missing link in Homo sapiens evolution. I met Zecharia Sitchen in 1989 when we both appeared on the Bill Knell TV show dealing with ancient astronauts. As Mr. Sitchin shared a limo from the city to the studio out in Long Island, we got to talk about his work, and our connection to Sumerian Gods and creational forces. He had brought along some of his Sumerian artifacts, that spoke to me of ancient times and creation. The next time Zecharia Sitchin and I met was in 1993 at NYU where we lectured together on ancient astronauts and related information.
His concept of the Anunnaki, always rang true for me, at the very least as a metaphor for ancient astronauts, giants if you will, who created a biogenetic experiment here on Earth. The reference to the quest for gold was a metaphor for the return to consciousness and light in the golden alchemy of time when the experiment ended.
